Last Sunday witnessed the first of the SALJGA girls’ Medals, the Hot Chocolate and Lip Gloss Competition, which was conducted as a Texas Scramble with the girls forming teams of four.
The event proved very popular with 16 girls taking part - the highest number of SALJGA girls to play on a course at one time.
Whyte’s Warriors, McDougall’s Flowers, Pretty in Pink and the Metal Heads all shot excellent scores as well as enjoying the social atmosphere and the hot chocolate that was provided at the end of the round.
After applying a complex system to account for the different handicaps the result was a four way tie so all the girls received a prize of some lip gloss.
Due to the popularity of the event SALJGA will organise a similar competition in the near future.
