Captain Shaun Clark and Stuart McMillan managed an excellent half against Jordan McColl and Ross Burnett in a match that never realised more than a single hole difference.
Andrew Whyte and Ben Kinsley were giving a generous number of shots to their opponents Dean Cormack and William Finlay and were behind for the majority of the match. However, a stunning final few holes ensured a win for SALJGA.
Ruairidh Robertson and Fraser Hayles were comfortable against Josh Driscoll and Callum Ness but Iain Watson and Callum Graham faced much sterner adversaries in Conor Finlay and Scotscraig captain Paul McGregor and were unable to add to the SALJGA points total.
SALJGA lead by 21/2 to 11/2, though I expect the visitors to field a stronger team for the second leg on Sunday 21st September.
