SALJGA visited Gleneagles on Sunday, the site of the 2014 Ryder Cup, and played the 9-hole Wee Course courtesy of ClubGolf.
Those taking advantage of this offer were Caelan Laeseke, Issy Olsen, Amy Boxer, Jamie Gillan, Romy and Korben Niven, George Lorimer, Ruaridh Brown and Aaron Ramsay.
On arrival at Gleneagles the kids warmed up at the driving range with a bucket of balls before starting their round on the Wee Course. All in the party were provided with a complimentary Gleneagles bag containing a scorecard and a supply of Gleneagles tees. 'The tees were essential as Aaron broke one with every tee shot and Korben was breaking his tees every time he pushed one into the hard ground' joked Nick Randerson, Junior Golf Co-ordinator.
'There was some excellent golf played and George Lorimer was inches away from a hole in one on the second' continued Nick. 'Everyone had a great time and was enjoying the course until the heavens opened and cut short the round, but then it always rains in Perthshire. My thanks go to ClubGolf but also to Sylvia and Paul Laeseke, Hugh Gillan and Kaye Ramsay who also enjoyed the Gleneagles experience but without whose help the trip would not have been possible.'
