SALJGA Team 1 comprised of Zak Bedford, Jonny Regan, Conor MacCallum and Keith Bowman. In the first round they played Cupar B on the Jubilee Course and achieved a comfortable victory with both pairings playing well. In the second round, which was also played on the Jubilee, they were up against the glamour team from St Regulus and were obviously distracted as they lost after a closely fought contest.
In SALJGA Team 2 were Matthew McAnaw, Sam Rigg, Scott Goadby and Christopher Fleming. They were awarded a bye in the first round but were up against the big hitting team from Scotscraig in the second. The SALJGA pairings played sensibly and by respecting the tight nature of the Jubilee on a windy evening, ran out comfortable winners as their opponents paid the penalty for too many wayward shots. The semi-final match was played on the New Course against the St Andrews Golf Club and although the SALJGA boys gave a respectable performance, the opposition was too strong on the night.
Nick Randerson, Junior Golf Co-ordinator, said 'Everybody who was involved in the competition enjoyed the event and welcomed the opportunity to experience a less common format of team golf and I congratulate all the participants.'
