Both players finished with nett scores of 71 and although both had back nines of 40, Michael won by 0.5 of a stroke once handicaps were taken into account.
The Wilson Trophy was played on the New Course and was the second step of the Order of Merit ‘Race for the Eden’. Andrew Whyte took the lowest gross prize with a 77 which propels him to the top of the Order of Merit board with Ruairidh a close second and Blair Morrison and Iain Ronaldson in equal third. Fraser Hayles and Alan Whitelock made their debuts on the Challenge Tour and both earned valuable points in their quest to make an impact at this level.
The tournaments are coming ‘thick and fast’ at this time of the year and the next opportunity for the SALJGA 'Premier League' players is on Sunday 20 June in the Matheson Trophy.
