Lewis Hazel and Ellie MacCallum win the Tait Salver15/06/2010

Lewis Hazel won the boys' Tait Salver by a single point and Ellie MacCallum stormed away with the girls' prize with 40 points on the Strathtyrum last Wednesday evening.

Lewis Hazel who narrowly lost the previous M2 tournament to Fraser Brown after a count-back, managed to get his revenge on Wednesday when he beat Fraser by a single point in this stableford competition.  Fraser was joint second with Luke Wiseman in this tight contest with only three points separating the top five places.

The girls’ competition was easier to call as Ellie MacCallum raced away with the trophy from the Graham sisters, Kirsty was second and Emma third.  The competition was well supported with a total of 12 competitors and although the weather was dry. an unseasonably cold wind made this June evening feel like winter.

The next event for all Mini-tour players is the Matchplay competition which starts on Monday 21st June and I encourage all eligible players to enter.
