Conditions


  1. All competitions shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Ltd and in accordance with the Local Rules.
  2. SALJGA competitions are restricted to current SALJGA members.
  3. All competitions are held on a nett basis unless otherwise stated.
  4. Challenge Tour and Mini-tour 1 competitions for boys are played using the medal tees.  Mini-tour 2 competitions for boys are played using the yellow tees.  Girls play from the red tees for all competitions.
  5. Competitors must start at the time established by the Competition Committee.  The specimen Condition (i.e. the five-minute condition) in the Rules of Golf (page 143) will be in effect for all competitions.
  6. In the event of a tie in a stroke play event, the winner shall be decided on the nett scores returned, or points in the case of a stableford, on the last 9 holes (or 6 or 3 or 2 or 1 hole).  If this method does not determine a winner the result shall be declared a tie.
  7. In the event of a match play event finishing all square, the match shall continue from the first hole until one side wins a hole.
  8. Prizes for all events will be presented at the SALJGA Junior Open in September which marks the end of the SALJGA competition season.
  9. Caddies are permitted for all competitions but are restricted to fellow SALJGA members.  Parents are prohibited from caddying
  10. Distance measurement devices are not permitted during competition play
  11. The Competition Committee reserves the right to fix and/or alter starting times and to alter or amend any of these conditions.
  12. The Committee's decision in all disputes is final.
